Handmade Bags & More

Beverely and David Humphreys have designed and handcrafted bags and accessories from traditional and exotic leathers for over thirty years now. Together they decide on styles. David designs the styles and selects the leathers used in each handbag while Beverely stitches everything together.

Bev's Bags - leather from a fish
For some this bag brings to mind Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon skin. The leather is made from the skin of a large fish, the Pirarucu.

Exhibiting in craft shows for many years, their handmade leather products are exhibited primarily in the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and several areas in Florida. Watch Kaylen from July 2019 Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair

To create their handbags and accessories, they select from a variety of leather skins. All handbags are leather lined, and most styles have several pockets inside. Accessories are available to match each handbag.

New leather bag design in multiple colors
Bevs Bags offers new designs in an array of colors for 2019.

Mostly made from cowhide skins, traditional bags are embossed with crocodile, alligator, and lizard, and their linings are made from pig skin, cowhide, or deer skin. Exotic skinned bags are limited to those skins available and include kangaroo, ostrich, alligator, lizard, python, stingray, and caiman crocodile.

For several years now, you may have noticed several family members involved with the business. Daughter Stephanie, her husband Mike, and granddaughter Kaylyn Wade all play very important roles with the business these days. Kaylyn designs some of the bags on display, making economy of materials one guiding force for her designs. The whole family works together to make, transport, display, and share their handmade bags and accessories with their customers.
